Hips Injection Molding - NDDMold

High Impact Polystyrene is a type of thermoplastic that offers clear, brittle, much lightweight, more flexible, and high impacts which makes it ideal for the injection molding process. Meaning that this HIPS material is perfect to make plastic parts and products that are needed in a wide range of applications.

The injection molding process is to melt the HIPS into liquid after that injecting into a double-sided mold at high pressure. Then once it is cooled and becomes solid the finished products are labeled, painted, and coated as needed.

NDDMold offers a HIPS injection molding process that is in demand for large quantities or production of parts and products. Not just that, it is also perfect for a high level of detail of parts and thickness. As a trusted company, we strive to give you affordable tooling designs that perfect high-demand requirements.

Main Usage of HIPS

Due to its excellent characteristics and ease to customize it becomes highly needed in a wide range of applications, especially for food packaging such as coffee cups, yogurt cups, and disposable trays. Aside from that it is also perfect to use for toys, computer houses, televisions, bicycle components, automotive instrument panels, gas tanks, closures, caps, refrigerator interiors, canisters, storage boxes, and more.

Injection Molding Process of HIPS

Heating: This is the process wherein the HIPS or high-impact polystyrene is heated in order to make a liquid form.

Added Two-sided Mold. This is the next process to create the desired shapes of HIPS.

Cooling. After all that process above wait for any few minutes to cold the hips and once it is cold then dropped it in Ben after that move to post-processing for the finishing process.

Finishing Process. In this part, the finished products may be painted, labeled, coated, and more.
